7075 Aluminum Round Bar
7075 T6 temper (Drawn Bar)
EN 755-2, EN 755-3, EN 754-2
7000 series alloys are often used in transport applications, including marine, automotive and aviation due to their high strength-to-density ratio. Their strength and light weight features are also desirable in other fields such as rock climbing equipment, bicycle components and frames, camping knives and fork sets, and hang glider airframes. Hobby grade RC models also use 7075 aluminum for chassis plates and it’s occasionally used for shafts in lacrosse sticks.
Other applications for this grade may include the aerospace industry, defense industry, aircraft fittings gears and shafts, fuse parts, meter shafts and gears, missile parts, regulating valve parts, worm gears, and keys. The advanced thermal properties and the ability to be highly polished also allow this material to be widely used in the mold tool manufacturing industry.
T6 temper 7075 has an ultimate tensile strength of 74,000–78,000 psi (510–538 MPa) and yield strength of at least 63,000–69,000 psi (434–476 MPa). It has a failure elongation of 5–8%.
T651 temper 7075 has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 67,000–78,000 psi (462–538 MPa) and yield strength of 54,000–67,000 psi (372–462 MPa). It has a failure elongation of 3–9%.
